I have had Golden’s previously and knew my next dog...

Who Rescued Who?
“ I don’t know what I would have done if I never knew about Goldens without Borders. They are such a caring, compassionate, and fully dedicated group of people.”
This is my story of my journey to Annie across the borders. It begins on the 25th of December this past Christmas, 2020,when my golden Donte passed away in my lap. He was 15yrs old and the joy of my life. Needless to say,I was completely beside myself and couldnot stop crying and hugging him. I now have his ashes on my nightstand where they will forever stay.
A few weeks later, my niece called me to check up on how I was handling my loss. She suggested I apply to be a foster for a Golden through Goldens Without Borders. She said it would help me with my grief and keep me occupied. So I went on line and applied. The next day I received an email accepting me as a foster after I had explained what I was going through.
I was put on the list of the first 10 rescue goldens coming in from China on the 29th of January.
I went to the destination to pick up the golden I had asked for which was a 1 1/2 yr old blonde male. The rescue team put the crate in my car and I went home. When I got home and opened up the crate, I was surprised to find a red head female. I called and asked why the mix up and after I got the reason why I said fine and figured it was only for a few weeks any way and I would get another one later.
Well, I believe that all things have a reason. Annie was my gift from my Donte. It seemed that she and I were meant to be together. Well after a week or so when
I had to meet the rescue person at their vet to Annie’s final checkup, I knew right there and then I had to have her. So, I adopted her.
What a fantastic, loving, smart and very obedient dog. Within the first 2 days she was completely house broken. Goes in her kennel by herself when I go to bed. When I take her for a walk, she stays very close to me and loves everyone she meets. Once I dropped her leash when I picked up after her and she just stopped and sat and waited until I picked up her leash. Within the next 2 months she learned 6 commands.
She is definitely a God send. I don’t know what I would have done if I never knew about Goldens without Borders.
They are such a caring, compassionate, and fully dedicated group of people. God bless them for rescuing these beautiful creatures from China.
I am telling you this story to really let you know how important it is to foster and or adopt the dogs thru Goldens Without Borders. They are strictly non-profit and depend on donations to continue their fantastic work.
