Rescue is Our Passion
Thank you for visiting our website and please join our newsletter mailing. Our Goldens Without Borders rescue was started because of our love and passion for Goldens. We wish we could save all the abused, abandoned and neglected animals in the world but we will start here. Please know we are all unpaid volunteers and we rely on the grace and generosity of our donors and volunteers. We are a reputable rescue that will focus on those Goldens in countries where neglect and mistreatment is of the worst imaginable kind.

We Foster Awareness
Whether it is by petitions, public awareness or through social media, we are committed to raising awareness and being a rescue that advocates for the humane treatment of all dogs. Despite such deplorable conditions, the Golden retriever has unwavering optimism and a spirit that is rarely broken. We hope to give them hope, new families and new lives.
One Family and One Dog at a Time
Forever home seems to make emotional sense but many people have no intention of providing their animals with a forever home. Just look at Craigslist with adoption entries and find “moving” and “no time”. Goldens Without Borders will work with our adoptive families to ensure it’s a perfect match for the family and the dog.
Our rescue was founded under the hope that all Goldens find their loving forever home and leave behind that of abuse and neglect. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not for profit organization and rely entirely on donations.
We have fun
Be part of the solution and be part of network of people working to make the world safe and more humane for all living creatures. You’ll make lots of new friends—and not just the four legged kind. Working side by side with those who share similar interests can forge lifelong friendships.
You’ll never find a more grateful and accepting comrade than a dog you have rescued.
Belly, Buddy and Lucy
Who: Sheila (Donnelly) Oliveira
I worked for a defense contractor in the Washington D.C area for more than thirteen years. My husband and I opened our own business, Sambalatte Torrefazione, a caffe and espresso bar, with three different locations in Las Vegas.
What: Married to Luiz “Lou” Oliveira and we have one adorable and beautiful son Zachariah “Zack” (2 yrs. Old). We are also parents to 3 Golden Retrievers (Lucy, Buddy and Belly) and 3 cats (K.C., Lucky and JJ). All our four legged adoptees are from local rescues, shelters or was a stray!
Where: I was born in NYC, grew up in Boxford, MA and been living in Las Vegas since 2004.
When: My co-founders and I have spent a good part of the first half of 2016 forming Goldens Without Borders (GWB). We are so excited to now focus on the actual missions that will bring these sweet and gentle creatures to safety and to a forever home.
Why: I have been so blessed in life in too many ways to count. All of my Goldens, past and current, have added so much to my life with such unconditional love and I have an overwhelming need to give back. I wish I could save all abandoned dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, burroughs and the likes of, but I can’t. I also wish to teach our son Zack the act of kindness, volunteering, giving back, and loving all Gods creatures with the same unconditional love they give us.
Our Rescue: My love for animals, especially Goldens, goes back to when I was a teenager. I have been fortunate to have had 6 Goldens in my life so far; all of which have added such an abundance of love and joy to my life. I can’t imagine life without them and wish I could save them all. We are committed to making the difference in as many lives as we can.
